PanormusSi avvicina il 2 Novembre, il giorno della festa dei morti, in Sicilia e soprattutto a Palermo un tempo molto sentita, ancor prima che fosse trasformata in Halloween. In Sicilia la “Festa dei Morti” è attesa soprattutto dai bambini: sanno che se sono stati bravi riceveranno in dono dai parenti defunti "u cannistru", un cesto pieno di dolci. Tra questi ci sono i pupi di zuccaro, dolci antropomorfi, e le ossa ri morti, dolci a forma di ossa a base di farina, zucchero e chiodi di garofano. La tradizione voleva anche che la mattina del 2 novembre i bambini svegliandosi, dovevano cercare in tutta la casa i giocattoli che i parenti defunti gli avevano fatto trovare. Chi era stato monello trovava il carbone 😄 Un’usanza tanto diffusa che nelle piazze si allestivano mercatini ad hoc, le “Fiere dei morti”, dove i genitori acquistavano di nascosto i regali per i loro piccoli. Dai racconti quotidiani del Maestro Andrea Camilleri, un estratto de "Il giorno dei morti", il suo racconto personale che rispecchia di come i bambini del 1943, vivevano un'emozione non da poco, in un periodo in cui incombeva la seconda guerra mondiale.
